Why we love it

Known as the “land of a thousand hills”, Rwanda is a stunningly beautiful landlocked country, with just 10.000 square miles, one of the continent’s smallest nations. Plains and lakes dominate the eastern borders while Rwanda’s western mountains are draped in rain forest. While Rwanda has seen tremendous tragedy during the Rwandan civil war in the 1990’s, this small country is also a place of immense beauty and continued healing. An important part of its revival is its wildlife ecotourism, centred on the world’s last mountain gorillas living in the dense forests of the volcanic Virungas range in the northwest. The culture, the blend of contrasting environments and the unique wildlife makes Rwanda a fantastic travel destination.
